A Brighton vintner launches their own charity gin next month, writes Nick Mosley.
Cassie Gould and Henry Butler of Butlers Wine Cellar in St Georges Road, Kemp Town, will be revealing their Butler’s Lucky Paws Gin on 1 October.
“This very special gin has been a long-held dream of ours”, said Cassie.
“It's finally come to life thanks to the incredible generosity and support of Rob and the amazing team at Murray Yeatman Distillery. Not only is the gin absolutely delicious, but the label also features a very important member of our family, Bubbles, our beloved rescue dog”.
The project is about more than just great gin. Each bottle will also support the work of a local charity.
“We're proud to announce that over 10% of every bottle sold will be donated to Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, where we continue to support their tireless work for animals in need”, said Cassie.

“As a proud ambassador for Raystede, this cause is close to my heart and also to Rob’s, who rescued his own dog from Raystede and supported them during lockdown with hand sanitiser production”.
“This collaboration has truly felt like fate. From crafting the spirit to designing the label, Yeatman Distillery has gone above and beyond, and we couldn't have done it without their help”.
“Butler’s Lucky Paws Gin is our way of raising both awareness and much-needed funds for an incredible charity while offering a high-quality, small-batch gin we're proud to have on our shelves”.
Lucky Paws is a six-times distilled, vapour-infused London Dry, delivering a smooth finish. The flavour is bold juniper at the front, followed by bright citrus layers then a sweet, aromatic hint of saffron on the finish.
To drink well and do good, you can order Butler’s Lucky Paws Gin from www.butlers-winecellar.co.uk or from the Brighton store.
