Brighton Cocktail Week returns to the city for its 5th edition next month, writes Nick Mosley.
Organised by local food group BITE Sussex, the event runs at over 30 premium bars, hotels and restaurants across the city from Saturday 1 to Sunday 9 November.
Guests can choose from a selection of cocktails – including a 0% option – for a promotional price of £9.50 per drink. Uniquely, there is no need to pre-purchase a ticket or wristband to take advantage of the deal – simply ask for the Brighton Cocktail Week menu.
“The event is made entirely possible thanks to the generosity of our spirit brand sponsors”, said co-organiser Tom Brown. “That means guests get a great priced drink in a premium venue, while the business has no outlay to participate and retains all revenue. It really is a win-win situation for everyone”.

2025 sponsors include Diageo, Pernod-Ricard, Lyre’s 0%, Ramsbury and Fever-Tree alongside locally based spirit companies Aluna Rum, Brighton Gin, DedBest Distillery, Goldstone Rum, Madame Jennifer and Slake Spirits.
In addition to £9.50 cocktail menus, the BITE Sussex team have also organised a programme of ticketed events with partner venues and visitor attractions across the city, many of which will be raising money for local charities.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on creating one-off experiential events”, said BITE Sussex co-director Nathalie Gomez de Vera. “It adds a whole new dimension to our festivals allowing guests to interactive with food and drink in unique locations and also lets our hospitality colleagues work together and have a bit of fun”.
Events include a Cocktails and Wagging Tails doggy open day at Brighton Toy and Model Museum; themed cocktails and dining movie screenings of Hocus Pocus and Pulp Fiction at Blossoms Bar and Restaurant; a Gung-Ho takeover at Cases; Reach for the Stars with guest bartender takeovers at Brighton i360; a martini trail with Ramsbury; and a spectacular Cocktails and Canapés Under The Sea featuring seven bartenders, seven local chefs and seven spirit brands at SEA LIFE Brighton aquarium. More information and tickets can be found on the Brighton Cocktail Week website.

Although BITE Sussex has been active in recent years including a Regency banquet at the Royal Pavilion, business-to-business ‘Meet the Maker’ days and most recently the Dogs Dinner competition at Soho House challenging local chefs to create the best doggy canapé, only this year did the team think that the time was right to reboot Brighton Cocktail Week.
“We had a hiatus following the fall out of the pandemic period”, said BITE Sussex co-director Nathalie Gomez de Vera. “Hospitality remains challenged by staff recruitment and retention, alongside rising costs across the board. Add to that the pressure on consumer spending and you can see how hospitality needs a helping hand at this time”.
“During Brighton Cocktail Week, guests can curate their own itineraries, explore new venues and enjoy great-priced premium drinks. What’s not to love?”.
